Volley for Collin a Great Success

Many thanks to all who turned out for the Volley for Collin fundraiser last month at Capt’n Bill’s. Twenty-three year old ACSC employee and father Collin McClearn was paralyzed in an auto accident when another driver ran a stop sign, hit him and overturned his truck. Because of your support the event was a great success, and the McClearn family is grateful for the assistance. We all wish Collin and his family the best.

ACSC’s Randy Hudson speaks at two NCRWA CEU Training Days in July

A.C. Schultes of Carolina’s Manager of Marketing and Operations, Randy Hudson, presented at North Carolina Rural Water Association (NCRWA) CEU training days at the City of Jacksonville and the Town of Louisburg last month. Randy shared his expertise in well construction and rehabilitation, and discussed the recovery of the Black Creek aquifer after the Central Coastal Plain Capacity Use restrictions took place several years ago. Participants also learned about the correlation between well depth and screen amount, including well screen and gravel pack examples (and new SiLibead technology), open hole well designs in limestone formations, well efficiency and maintenance guidelines, and the differences between redevelopment methods. Highlights included a high velocity jetting video.

“I’d like to thank NCRWA and the municipalities for hosting us at the trainings, and the participants in Jacksonville and Louisburg were just great,” said Hudson. “We hope water operators from all over North Carolina will keep an eye out for future opportunities like this. The schedules are available at http://acschultesnc.com/events/ and I look forward to meeting fellow professionals at the next one.”
